InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA — The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), through the Directorate General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE), has set the Market Index Price (HIP) for bioethanol at Rp 9,013 per liter for November 2025, effective from 1 November 2025. The decision is stated in Letter No. B-3152/EK.05/DJE.B/2025.

The determination follows Ministerial Decree No. 6034K/12/MEM/2016 on biofuel market prices blended into fossil fuels. It serves as a reference for implementing renewable energy programs in the national transportation sector.

The HIP is calculated using the formula:
HIP = (Average molasses price at KPBN × 4.125 Kg/L) + 0.25 USD/Liter.

Based on KPBN data (15 July–14 October 2025), the average molasses price was Rp 1,180 per liter. With a Bank Indonesia average exchange rate of Rp 16,585 per USD (15 September–14 October 2025), the HIP for November was set at Rp 9,013 per liter.

The government expects this pricing to guide biofuel producers in managing distribution contracts and maintaining price balance between biofuels and fossil fuels. It also reflects the state’s ongoing commitment to energy diversification through renewable sources — particularly domestic agricultural feedstocks such as molasses. (T2)
