IPOC 2025: EBTKE Ensures B50 Testing is Transparent

InfoSAWIT, NUSA DUA – The government continues to strengthen steps in the development of palm oil-based clean energy. The Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya Listiani Dewi, asserted that the testing and implementation of biofuel are critical strategies to maintain palm oil price stability and reduce national emissions.

In a press conference session at the Indonesian Palm Oil Conference (IPOC) 2025 and Price Outlook 2026 in Nusa Dua, Bali, on Thursday (13/11/2025), Eniya explained that Indonesia has long experience in biofuel development, including collaboration with the automotive industry and component manufacturers.

Eniya highlighted that the policy of developing biodiesel is not just about technology but also an economic strategy to support palm oil farmers.

"There are three objectives: maintaining palm oil prices to remain profitable for farmers, reducing carbon emissions, and strengthening national energy resilience," she stated.

She revealed that testing of palm oil-blended fuel, such as B50, is underway to evaluate engine durability, combustion efficiency, and its effect on vehicle components.

"We will be transparent with the test results. If there are constraints, we will announce them openly. All data will be reported so the industry can prepare," Eniya stressed.

The increase in new energy mix, like B50, will impact the national demand for palm oil raw material (CPO). Therefore, the government is preparing a strategic move to ensure CPO supply remains sufficient without massive land expansion. (T2)
