InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Head of Agriculture and Plantation Agency Aceh Province, Cut Huzaaimah did welcome smallholders’ replanting program (SRP) and infrastructure program launched by Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) that also involves related ministries/instances, such as, General Directorate of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture.
The plantations in Aceh are about 1 million hectares. Of the numbers, 50% are palm oil plantations and about 47% are companies’ plantations and the rests belong to the smallholders.
Technical recommendation to SRP in Aceh in 2018-2022 would be 30.148 hectars. In 2018 SRP covered about 3 thousand hectares; in 2019 it covered about 13 thousand hectares; in 2020 it did 12 thousand hectares; in 2021 it covered about 2 thousand hectares; and per June 2022 it covers 148 hectares.
“In 2020 the numbers were decreasing because the legal officers were investigating. We had to know more about some forest release documents together with Environment and Forestry Agency,” Cut Huzaaimah said in the fifth webinar with the theme “Dampak Positif Program Sarpras dan Pengembangan SDM Bagi Petani Sawit” in Jakarta that InfoSAWIT attended.
SRP and infrastructure helped the regional agencies to encourage cultivation improvement and tools for the planters to develop, such as, in Aceh. Years before the tools were delivered to 6 (six) districts but now they cover 9 (nine) districts. SRP covered 300 hectares, way improvement covered 950 meters, transportation help and post – harvest tools and scholarship were delivered to 28 smallholders.
Cut Huzaaimah confirmed, SRP and infrastructures really helped the smallholders namely SRP would spend much. “If we depend on Regional Budget, it would not be enough and thanks to PFMA for helping us,” Cut Huzaaimah said. (T2
