RMT No. 30/2022: CPO Exports Run after Supplying Palm Cooking Oil

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government has re-opened crude palm oil (CPO) export. But Regulation of Minister of Trade (RMT) Number 30 / 2022, as Minister of Trade, Muhammad Lutfi mentioned, would confirm that palm cooking oil industrial needs in this country fulfilled in the first place.

Lutfi told, just like what President Joko Widodo instructed, the government re-regulated CPO, RBD palm oil, RBD palm olein, and used cooking oil exports for the domestic supply could be enough.

“The government wants to confirm that CPO needs can be fulfilled in this country and the people can buy (palm cooking oil) in economic price. This is the major thing for the government. We hope, every stakeholder can cooperate to succeed the export regulation,” Lutfi said, Lutfi as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Monday (23/5/2022).

Coordinator Minister in Maritime and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said every stakeholder should obey CPO and its derivative export regulation because it is the same effort to guarantee CPO supply in this country.

“We hope every stakeholder would obey the regulation. If it is separately done, there would be no solution. We want to take the industries to succeed it. With no cooperation, the program would not be successful,” Pandjaitan said.

RMT Number 30 / 2022 regulated that every exporter should get Export Approval documents as the condition before exporting CPO and its derivative as the regulation. The Export Approval would be available only for six months. (T2)
