InfoSAWIT, JAKRATA – Though it is still hard and tough to go through the 28 days after crude palm oil (CPO) and its derivative and palm cooking oil export ban ran, which made smallholders’ fresh fruit bunch (FFB) get cheaper up to 70%, the smallholders kept went through and showed the commitment to live as part of the civilization.

“We do not did anarchy,” Chairman of Asosiasi Petani Kelapa Sawit Indonesia (Apkasindo), Gulat Manurung said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Thursday (19/5/2022).

He also mentioned, palm oil is the source of economy for the smallholders and the future of economy in Indonesia. palm oil makes Indonesia be seen in the world.

“We do agree that palm cooking oil should be available and economic in price in the society. We from smallholders get the respect and have the chance to realize what President Joko Widodo hoped for,” he said.

He continued, President Joko Widodo did unpopular decision by considering every aspect and measured. “That is why let us take this even as the introspection for palm oil in Indonesia and be the great lesson to get the better class - governance from the economic, social, and ecology, and better class for smallholders to see our future,” he said.
