Some Palm Oil Plantation Permits Were Revoked and Evaluated for being Overlapping

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - General Director of Determination of Rights and Land Registration Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency, Suyus Windiyana said, there are lots of published permits which are overlapping and beyond administration limits both in the provincial and district/city governments.

“To follow up Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja, mining business and some forest area permits in 2021 would be revoked and would be done in 2022 and evaluation of some areas laid about 1,3 million hectares,” he said.

Suyus continued, his side revoked Business Rights and Building Rights which were abandoned that laid about 34.448 hectares. Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial/National Land Agency reported, some Business Rights have been revoked after the permits/companies were checked from the Decision o Minister of Environment and Forestry.

80 (eighty) companies got Business Rights but 66 of their permits will be revoked after their concession and permits were evaluated, including in Attachment II that their concession would be revoked.

The second, 14 companies’ permits/concession in Attachment II would be evaluated. The 80 companies are in 14 provinces and laid about 738.724,39 hectares in total. From 192 companies which their permits have been revoked, about 106 companies would be evaluated.

“This is important because some data, as a matter of fact, run well but some others should be re-checked and laid about 57 thousand hectares for re-verification – were the areas from forest release or not; some from forest release, or have been planted or do not have Business Rights,” he said.
