The Government Officially Banned Every CPO and Its Derivative Product Export: Violation is Sued

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government officially published to ban the exports of CPO, RPO, POME, RBD Palm Olein, and Used Cooking Oil and would sue everyone that breaks the regulation. This is about to show the government’s strong commitment to prioritize the people to get bulk palm cooking oil at Rp14.000 per liter in this country.

“The temporary export ban on palm cooking oil is the strong commitment of the government to prioritize the people. That is why if someone of a company breaks it, it would be sued,” Coordinator Minister in Economy, Airlangga Hartarto said in a virtual press conference in Jakarta, Wednesday (27/4) night that InfoSAWIT joined.

He also said, just like what President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) instructed and noticed inputs from the people, and also not to be having different interpretation, the export bans are explained in details for the products above and to get bulk palm cooking oil at Rp 14.000 per liter in every traditional market. The ban mechanism is simply arranged.

The policy was running since 28 April 2022 at 00.00 WIB and available until bulk palm cooking oil is at Rp 14.000,00 per liter in Indonesia.

The ban is regulated by Regulation of Minister of Trade according to Article XI GATT that regulated that the members of World Trade Center (WTO) can temporarily ban or limit the exports to prevent or minimize the lack of food materials or other significant products. The export ban for RBD Palm Olein would be available for its producers. (T2)
