InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Wood and palm oil plantatin company, PT Dharma Satya Nusantara Tbk (DSNG, the company) on Friday (22/4/2022) got two 2022 Corporate Emission Awards. They are in Transparency of Corporate Emission Reduction in Issuer Sector in Green Category and Transparency of Corporate Emission Calculation in Issuer Sector in Gold Category.
The award was conducted by Beritasatu Media Group in cooperation with PT Bumi Global Karbon (BGK), online and live on Friday.
Green category was awarded to the company that revealed the achievement and calculation of green - house gas (GHG) emission reduction though there was no official verification from independent parties to calculate GHG reduction. Gold category was awarded to the company that revealed 2 scopes of emission calculation but there was no official verification from independent parties.
2022 Corporate Emission Transparency Award is the second annual event for the companies that contributed to save the earth on their real things in cultivation and carbon emission reduction sustainably.
This year, the awards were delivered to 87 companies that did significant progress to get GHG reduction and revealed their transparency and emission reduction based on data reported on 2020 sustainability reports which were published and available on each company’s official website.
The recognition from the stakeholders always means something for DSNG, namely in transition to low carbon economy. “We hope, other stakeholders could track what we did in this transition when we started reporting the basic emission and revealed climate risks of the company based on Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendation,” Chief of Sustainability Officer DSN Grup, Denys Collin Munang said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.
DSNG believed, climate change is one biggest threat for the agriculture which is the main business of the company. That is why since 2021 DSNG started preparing its business that could adapt and solve the risks by having good plans and good – roadmap heading to our aspiration, which is, net zero. (T2)
