InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – After the government decided to ban crude palm oil (CPO) exports to fulfill the stocks in this country, Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA) supports the policy.
Chairman in Communication, IPOA, Tofan Mahdi said, as stakeholders, they support every policy that the government published in palm oil sector. “We respect and would implement the policy, just like what President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) decided,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Friday (22/4/2022).
He also took other stakeholders in palm oil industry to review the impact of the policy to sustainable palm oil sectors.
“But if in the future days, the policy delivers the negative to sustainable palm oil, we would beg the government to evaluate the policy,” he said.
Prior President Jokowi through its virtual press conference told that the government decided to ban raw material of palm cooking oil and palm cooking oil to make sure that palm cooking oil is available in this country.
President Jokowi thought, it was decided after conducting meeting (with his ministers) to fulfill what the people needs, namely palm oil in this country.
President Jokowi confirmed that the government would always monitor and evaluate the execution of the policy to guarantee palm cooking oil procurement in economic price. (T2)
