Ministry of Industry Warned 24 Palm Cooking Oil Producers

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita signed and sent Documents of Minister of Industry about the warn to 24 (twenty four) palm cooking oil producers to obey every regulation to increase their production.

“Of the 24, their production reached 5 percent in average. Six of them still do not producer until today. Zero percent may happen for they did not report to Sistem Informasi Minyak Goreng Curah (SIMIRAH),” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

Agus also suggested every palm cooking oil producer involved in the program to report data production and distribution through SIMIRAH to get real time monitor.

“Business issues are not known from one side only. It needs to reveal one by one both from the producer, distributor, and retailer as well. We keep accelerating the solution. The regulation is good enough but the implementation is on progress. We are in cooperation with Indonesian Police to monitor,” he said.

He also mentioned, based on the report on Wednesday (13/4) morning, the producers reported to distribute 80 thousand tons in the past 13 days or about 6.100 tons per day. The daily needs reached 7.000 - 7.700 tons per day in national level. “The producers almost fulfill the daily needs. We keep monitoring data and do field check in person,” Agus said.

Regulation of Minister of Industry Number 8 / 2022 obliged the producers to list every distributor. The regulation also got sanction for palm cooking oil distributors that do not follow up the warning, such as, written warning and freeze their business.

“The key word is monitoring. I predicted in the next week, they could produce 7.000 tons per day in average. It means, the needs would be enough nationally,” Agus said.

He also confirmed that the subsidized palm cooking oil claim can be paid based on the regulation by prioritizing accountability and circumspection principles. To accelerate the claim payment, every process of subsidy payment could be online through SIINas which is integrated to Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) system.

“By online claim, including data distribution through SIMIRAH, Ministry of Industry makes sure that every businessman that does distribute subsidized palm cooking oil would get their rights based on their obligation,” he said. (T2)
