Indonesian Police Would Supervise Bulk Palm Cooking Oil Production and Distribution in 24/7

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Prior the government substituted the policy about bulk palm cooking oil, from the trade – base to be industrial – base. The industrial – base policy was reinforced by using information technology use called Sistem Informasi Minyak Goreng Curah (SIMIRAH) to manage and supervise its production and distribution.

Indonesian Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said that police officers and Ministry of Industry agreed to make united taskforce to monitor and supervise bulk palm cooking oil producers, distributors from first to fourth level and retailers for 24/7.

“To confirm that the stocks are available in the markets, we made united taskforce that would be monitoring in the headquarters of every producer. The officers are from the police and Ministry of Industry. In specific for the big producers, the supervision would be 24/7,” Sigit said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT.

By the 24/7 supervision, he hoped, bulk palm cooking oil will be available in the markets for the people and the selling price would be in the highest retail price just like the government regulated.

“It is afraid that there will be substitution. But one thing for sure, every instance (producer) which has contract with Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency will get subsidy. The producers should confirm their production based on their contract. If this runs 50% only, the stocks will be available in the markets,” Sigit said.

He also emphasized, in the 24/7 supervision, Indonesian Police officers would work with food taskforce from the central to many regions with the intelligent, and other officers in the regions to check the stocks and price of bulk palm cooking oil in the markets. (T2)
