InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In 2022, the weather would be better for the dry season would be late. But Head of Climate Change Information Center, Geophysics, Climatology, and Meteorology Agency (GCMA), Dodo Gunawan said, many regions in Indonesia would be in dry season in this April.
He also mentioned, the regions where dry season would be would be late that cover 47,7%, the later regions, 26,3%, and about 26% of the regions would have neutral season or in average.
Dodo told, it means, there will be rain though it is in dry season. “I think, this is good for palm oil plantation,” he said at Ngobrol Bareng GAPKI, Friday (25/3/2022).
GCMA predicted, Indonesia would be in dry peak season in August. 52,9% regions would have it. But many regions are in rainy season and it is happening. The dry season, he continued, would be normal which means, the dry season would be normal. “In the dry season, according to some sources, it would be normal,” Dodo said.
General Secretary of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Eddy Martono in his speech told that dry season in 2019 decreased the crude palm oil production in 2020 and 2021. CPO demands from Indonesia to the world escalated. “The war in Ukraine and Russia made vegetable oil price increase because of the lack of sunflower oil,” he said.
Eddy also emphasized, the world needs CPO from Indonesia because of the lack of supply. Indonesia was even suggested to substitute its policy. (T2)
