CBS – PFMA Agreed to Get One Data

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Negative opinions about palm oil plantations may be caused by minimum data and information. That is why it is important to have big (one) data by involving hundreds of thousand respondents.

In fact, palm oil plantations in Indonesia have no any data. It is different from Brazil because it has enough complete data, such as in animal production. The Latin America country also has data about decreasing production. In Sabah, Malaysia, the right data use would enable to get coordinates of new planting.

In his order, Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani Indrawati told that data could be the new line in 4.0 Industry. She even emphasized that data is as important as valuable resource like mining.

That is why Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA) agreed to get memorandum of understanding (MoU) of data and information exchange between PFMA and Central Bureau of Statistic by proposing theme “Satu Data Sawit untuk Pembangunan Industri Kelapa Sawit Nasional Berkelanjutan”.

This is regulated in Regulation of Minister of Finance Number 113/PMK.01/2015 about Organization and Work Procedures of Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency, Directorate of Planning and Fund Management that carry out the Function of Research, Data, and Information Management.

The MoU signing is as the commitment that it is important to get data as the support to realize every work program in PFMA and be in synergy with institutions that provide valid and reliable data.

“MoU about Data and Information Exchange is about to develop data about palm oil industries nationally to develop accurate and comprehensive data infrastructure to formulate optimal and comprehensive regulations to support and develop sustainable palm oil industries nationally,” PFMA noted, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (25/1/2022).

The MoU was signed by Director of PFMA, Eddy Abdurrachman; Secretary of CBS, Atqo Mardiyanto. It is the realization of synergy between institution and the government to realize “Satu Data Sawit  untuk Pembangunan Industri Kelapa Sawit Nasional Berkelanjutan”. The cooperation uses “Mekanisme Nol Rupiah” that means, the cooperation is free of charge. Data exchange about palm oil plantations between PFMA and CBS uses data exchange system called Transdata.
