InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – On Thursday (06/01/2022) the government officially revoked, at least, 2.300 mining and forestry licenses for they are not active and productive, and mislead the licenses published.
President Joko Widodo himself announced that in Istana President. But he never mentioned the area width of 2.078 licenses. But in forestry sector, of 192 licenses revoked, the areas may lay about 3,2 million hectares.
President Joko Widodo did not tell in detail if the area covering 3,2 million hectares belonging to palm oil plantation companies operate in forest areas which raise issues for all these years for having no license published by Ministry of Environment and Forestry which is in charge to government’s forests.
Of the numbers that the government revoked, about 1,788 million hectares are in 19 provinces belonging to 137 companies. The widest areas are in Papua that lay about 680,9 thousand hectares belonging to 26 companies; then Papua Barat that is laying about 382 thousand hectares; then Central Kalimantan that is laying about 350,11 thousand hectares belonging to 39 companies. Jambi has 3 companies revoked licenses that lay about 58,7 thousand hectares.
The rests are in other provinces, such as, Nangroe Aceh Darrusalam (NAD) ( 1 license), North Sumatera ( 1 license), West Sumatera (2 licenses), Riau (3 licenses), Kepulauan Riau (1 license), South Sumatera (1 license), West Kalimantan (8 licenses), South Kalimantan (5 licenses), East Kalimantan (5 licenses), North Kalimantan (2 licenses), Gorontalo (5 licenses), Southeast Sulawesi (2 licenses), West Sulawesi (1 license), Maluku (5 licenses), and North Maluku (6 licenses).
It is indicated that palm oil plantation licenses that have been revoked is because of misleading every regulation, for instance, the companies changed palm oil plantation licenses without getting licenses from the government, in this case, Minister of Environment and Forestry published area release license. Not only that, it is possible that the companies took advantages forest release license to palm oil planting and dig mining potential in palm oil plantation areas.
Meanwhile for palm oil plantation business in about 3,1 million hectares, the government has mechanism solution, which is, Undang-Undang Cipta Kerja, Chapter 110B which mentions for the areas planed by palm oil but did not qualify the conditions to be released and 110A that mentions for palm oil plantations in areas but fulfill the technical conditions to be released.
Until now, not less than 100 palm oil plantation companies in areas propose to solve forest release and some of them are in progress to get administration condition and there has been field surveyor team.
