InfoSAWIT, KUALA LUMPUR – The Government of Indonesia sued about RM 293,67 million to palm oil plantation company - TDM Bhd Group which is PT Rafi Kamajaya Abadi (RKA) for it is assumed that the company illegally operates in its relationship with the fire in the company’s areas, West Kalimantan in 2019.
Ministry of Environment and Forestry claimed, the sanction is on the run for the loss of ecology, economy, and compensation to environment impact verification, TDM mentioned is a statement in Malaysia Exchange.
The claim is also compensation about RM 214,29 million to improve 2.560 hectares palm oil areas which were in flame. The shares of the company – 59,67% belong to Terengganu Estate.
TDM said, the company is still analyzing financial and operational impacts from the claim. “By this announcement, there is no material impacts to RKA’s operational for this year,” TDM mentioned, as quoted from The Edge Market.
TDM also mentioned, according to RKA’s attorney, the company believe, there are reasons to defend or reject the claim. This case is renewed for the first trial that will be running on 10 January 2022. (T2)
