InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The government is focusing to develop palm oil industriees in upstream sectors, such as, realizing smallholders’ replanting program (SRP), providing infrastructures, and developing human resources.

The programs eventually want to get goals, such as, to increase smallholders’ welfare, their cultivation should be the same with good agricultural practices, and also environmentally done.

“The smallholders will get efficient costs in their cultivation, and their fresh fruit bunch (FFB) will be more expensive,” Director of Partnership in duty, Palm oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PFMA), Edi Wibowo said at Focus Group Discussion (FGD) SAWIT BERKELANJUTAN VOL 11, with the theme “Minyak Sawit Sebagai Minyak Nabati Berkelanjutan Terbesar Dunia”, that InfoSAWIT virtually conducted, Thursday (9/12/2021).

He also mentioned, by October 2021 the smallholders involved in SRP reached 102.209 smallholders that belonged 234.392 hectares, and PFMA distributed about Rp 6,34 billion in the program.

Edy also mentioned, there are three advantages from the program, the first is to increase the smallholders’ palm oil plantation productivity, then implement GAP, and the third is to improve smallholders’ plantation governance. (T2)
