InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - General Director of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conversion, Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resource (EMR), Dadan Kusdiana, said, new renewable energy development including palm oil biodiesel should have social, economic, and environmental aspects.
The standard will be called Indonesian Bioenergy Sustainability Indicator (IBSI). The standards should fulfill 3 aspects, such as, environmental indicators, which mean, new renewable energy should have low emission, minimal waste, and could be traceable.
The second aspect is social indicators, which mean, source of energy should support people’s economy, play roles to increase employment, and source of material should be used to develop new renewable services.
The third is economic indicators which mean, new renewable energy should increase productivity, in this case, palm oil plantation productivity should be increasing to produce palm oil to produce biodiesel within narrower land use, fulfill energy balance, and have added values.
“It also relates to infrastructures and logistics to distribute bioenergy,” Dadan said at the 17thth Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2022 Price Outlook (IPOC) 2021 that InfoSAWIT joined in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/12/2021). (T2)
