Stakeholders Helped to Prevent Covid-19; Budi Gunadi Appreciated

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Health Indonesian Republic, Budi Gunadi did appreciate what private sectors, including palm oil, did to help the government to prevent Covid0-19 spread by conducting massive vaccination.

He thought, Ministry of Health will not be able to conduct vaccination without others’ helps, such as, stakeholders in palm oil plantations.

“We ourselves will not be able to do it. Ministry of Health will not be able to exclusively conduct it. Private sectors including palm oil industries should support it,” Budi Gunadi said at the 17th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2022 Price Outlook in Jakarta, Wednesday (1/12/2021).

He also mentioned, the government cannot publish its own program but still needs same action to run together with the people of Indonesia.

“I do believe, if we are united with every element of our nation, we could develop public health service system which is stronger, more powerful and ready to solve Covid-19 spread,” he mentioned.

For information, Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Projo, Ministry of Village, and Police did vaccination for 7 million men around the plantations. President Joko Widodo positively responded the action.

President Joko Widodo said, Covid-19 vaccination acceleration and expansion need support from element of the society including the stakeholders joining in IPOA.

“I do respect the initiative to help Covid-19 vaccination acceleration by distributing 7 million dozes to help the people around palm oil plantations and productive villages,” President Joko Widodo said in opening remarks at ‘Gerakan Vaksinasi 7 Juta Warga Perkebunan dan Desa Produktif’ which was virtually conducted on Friday (24/9/2021)

He also admitted, plantation sectors particularly palm oil are important and strategic.
