IPOC 2021: Sri Mulyani: Palm Oil Sectors Significantly Increased in Pandemic

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The Government of Indonesia appreciated palm oil exports for the increasing revenue. In Covid-19 pandemic, the increasing price of commodities, including palm oil significantly increased revenue from Out Fee, Tax Exports and Leavy.

Palm oil is important not only for foods but also our energy dependence nationally to be processed as renewable energy.

“Food oil need fulfillment from palm oil is important and for our energy independence,” Minister of Finance Indonesian Republic, Sri Mulyani said when delivering speech at the 17th Indonesian Palm Oil Conference and 2022 Price Outlook (IPOC 2021), that InfoSAWIT joined, Wednesday (1/12/2021).

Palm oil in the global markets including in Indonesia keep developing to fulfill not only food oil, including cooking palm oil and specialty fats, but also sustainable bioenergy supply.

“It is important to have and run strategies to develop downstream industries in Indonesia and fulfill oil and non-oil needs,” she emphasized. (T1)
