InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) will conduct webinar for palm oil industry stakeholders and leaders, the members of CPOPC countries, and other palm oil producer countries.
The webinar with the theme Opportunities and Challenges for Palm Oil Producer Countries (OCOPOP) was attended by about 365 participants from many producer countries, such as, Colombia, Honduras, and Papua New Guinea.
The goal is to recognize, discuss opportunities and challenges to maintain bullish palm oil price and escalate strategies and avoid decreasing price.
Assistant Deputy in Plantation Agribusiness Development Coordinator Ministry in Economy Indonesia said that Indonesia has planned strategic map to develop downstream industries to increase production and encourage added values of palm oil.
“The plans cover ecosystem development, conduct good governance, develop capacity and technology to support palm oil business,” he said when delivering speech in webinar that InfoSAWIT joined.
Genral Secretary Ministry Plantation Industry and Commodity Malaysia, Datuk Ravi Muthayah said, palm oil industries increased Malaysian economy in 2020 about RM 73.3 billion.
As one palm oil producer country, Malaysia has its responsibility to help confirm food security realization according to population numbers and fulfill sustainable development goals (SDGs) targets in 2030.
Datuk Ravi also emphasized, CPOPC will always encourage palm oil industrie to deliver right narration about palm oil to create balancing market perspectives. (T2)
