ANJ Got Platinum Rank in ASRRAT 2021

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Tbk (ANJ) got 'Platinum Rank' and 'Commendation for Four Consecutive Year Participation in 2021 ASSRAT' (Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating). The award was given in "Awarding Ceremony Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT) 2021” at Hotel Raffles Jakarta on 17 November 2021.

Director of ANJ, Lucas Kurniawan said that the award confirms what the company realized in sustainability report. In 2020 ASRRAT, ANJ successfully got “Platinum Rank”. The company got “Gold Rank” in 2019 and 2018.

"The award is the same with our commitment to communicate sustainability work in implementing environment, social, and governance (ESG) transparently and accountably through the sustainable report system based on Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) standards,” Lucas said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (23/11/2021).

As palm oil plantation company that highly commits to protect environment, ANJ does conserve high conservation values (HCV), high carbon stock (HCS), and peat. HCV forests that the company conserves cover 57.259,77 hectares in total. This is about to minimize the loss of natural habitat and maintain natural conservation,

“We keep monitoring and assess our conservative initiative and cooperating with scientists and environment experts to design, manage our plantations as natural conservation areas,” he said.

Besides, Lucas continued, as a significant green-house gas (GHG) business provider, the company also implements some projects to reduce GHG, such as, using compost fertilizers and fertigation to reduce nitrogen fertilizers.

“We are arranging roadmap to realize net zero. It is hoped to be realized in 2030. The journey to net-zero carbon starts since 2012 by developing methane gas capture from mill waste. Then we use it as powerplant from biogas,” he said. (T2)
