Hanuraba Sawit Kencana Obtains ISPO Certificate

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA -  One of the oil palm plantations belonging to IMC Plantations managed by PT Hanuraba Sawit Kencana (HSK) has received the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (ISPO) Certificate issued by the Certification Agency PT TAFA Certification Indonesia (TSI), an Indonesian certification agency. certification that has been accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN).

According to a press release by the company, this achievement is faster than the initial target of PT HSK which previously targeted the ISPO certificate to be obtained in 2022. PT HSK is an oil palm plantation covering an area of ​​3,072 hectares which has been operating since 2009 in Manggar Jaya Village, Tanjung Lago District, Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra. The company's main activities include the management of oil palm nucleus and plasma plantations with the main product being Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB).

With the acquisition of this ISPO Certificate, PT HSK's plantation has implemented the Principles and Criteria that have been set in accordance with the Minister of Agriculture Regulation Number 11 of 2015 concerning Sustainable Palm Oil Certification. This achievement is also in accordance with PT HSK's Vision and Mission, which is to become a high-performing company, focusing on human resources so as to realize sustainable plantations in the process and business growth.

Since 2019, the Company has conducted Gap Analysis, completed all required licensing administrations, implemented good plantation governance, and implemented ISPO principles and criteria. PT HSK also received good supervision from the local government and certification bodies to check whether the obligations had been carried out properly and there were no violations in practice. Guidance will also continue to be carried out so that the objectives of the ISPO Certification desired by the government, other stakeholders can be fulfilled, so as to increase competitiveness in the global market.

President Director of IMC Plantations, Hari Witono said that his party is committed to continuing to implement environmentally and socially friendly palm oil plantation governance. "We at IMC Plantations continue to be committed to implementing sustainable palm oil plantation governance by referring to the ISPO Principles and criteria," he said in a written statement to InfoSAWIT, Tuesday (7/9/2021).

Hari Witono added that this is a good start and he hopes that in the following year other IMC Plantations plantations that have started the certification process will also be able to get ISPO certificates soon. "This step is a form of PT Hanuraba Sawit Kencana's commitment to realizing Economic, Social, and Environmental sustainability in line with the United Nations' efforts to campaign for Sustainability by relying on 3 Pillars, namely Profit, People, and Planet," said Hari.

Meanwhile, TSI as the ISPO certification body gave appreciation to PT HSK for the success of obtaining the ISPO Certificate. "We from TSI, always support the sustainability efforts carried out by the oil palm plantation sector," said TSI. (T2)
