InfoSAWIT, YOGYAKARTA – The Stiper Institute of Agriculture (INSTIPER) in Yogyakarta has officially welcomed 876 new students for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. This number is an increase of 100 students compared to the previous year, reflecting growing trust in the university that focuses on the plantation and forestry sectors.
Of the total new students, 840 are undergraduate students. The Faculty of Agriculture has the largest number with 608 students, followed by the Faculty of Agricultural Technology with 155 students, and the Faculty of Forestry with 77 students. Meanwhile, the postgraduate program accepted 36 new students as of September 1, 2025. This year's new students come from 26 provinces in Indonesia, with Riau recorded as the largest contributor, followed by North Sumatra and West Kalimantan.
INSTIPER has also been entrusted with educating 230 scholarship recipients, or 27% of the total new students. The scholarships come from various partners, including 150 students receiving PKS HR scholarships from the Directorate General of Plantations of the Ministry of Agriculture in collaboration with BPDPKS, 39 students from PT RAPP for the forestry program, two students from Asian Agri Group, and 39 students receiving the KIP Kuliah scholarship.
The Rector of INSTIPER, Dr. Harsawardana, in his welcome speech at the opening of lectures at Grha INSTIPER on September 2, 2024, stated that the campus is starting a transformation toward an "All New INSTIPER." This transformation is being carried out through a curriculum renewal based on a modular, adaptive, and futuristic competency block and supports a learning system without classroom boundaries through interconnectivity. "INSTIPER Yogyakarta has been trusted by various work partners, both companies and government agencies, as a producer of superior human resources in the plantation and forestry sectors," he said in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Friday (9/5/2025).
On the same occasion, the new students also received a public lecture from the Minister of National Development Planning/Head of Bappenas, represented by Dr. Ir. Adriyono Kilat Adhi. The material highlighted the role of the agriculture, plantation, and forestry sectors in driving economic growth, food security, and national energy.
As part of the adaptation process, the new students also participated in the Campus Orientation and Plantation Introduction (OKKABUN) program, which ran from August 29 to September 8, 2025. This activity was held not only on the INSTIPER campus but also at the Ungaran Experimental Garden (KP2) to equip students with field experience from the start of their studies. (T2)
