InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at Rp14,988/kg on Friday (March 21, 2025), marking a decrease of 0.66% or approximately Rp100/kg compared to the CPO price on Wednesday (March 19, 2025), which was at the highest offer of Rp15,008/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO price for Franco Belawan & Dumai was set at Rp14,988/kg, while the CPO price for Franco Teluk Bayur was set at Rp14,858/kg.
Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, the contract price of palm oil on Bursa Malaysia saw a slight increase on Friday (March 21, 2025), driven by hopes for better demand from India and China. However, prices are still on track for a second consecutive weekly decline due to weakening soybean futures on the Chicago Exchange and the ongoing slowdown in Malaysian palm oil export performance.
The benchmark palm oil contract FCPOc3 for June 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange rose by RM5 per ton, or a decrease of approximately 0.11%, reaching RM4,418 (US$999.32) per metric ton at midday. This palm oil contract price has dropped by 3.45% over the past week.
Referring to a report from independent inspection company AmSpec Agri Malaysia on Thursday, Malaysian palm oil product exports for the period of March 1-20 fell by 5%. Meanwhile, according to cargo surveyor Intertek Testing Services, exports decreased by 14.2%.
Additionally, the most active soybean oil contract on Dalian DBYcv1 fell by 0.22%, while the palm oil contract DCPcv1 decreased by 0.09%. Soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) BOcv1 dropped by 0.7%.
