InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at Rp 14,980/kg on Tuesday (March 11, 2025), marking a decrease of 0.83% or approximately Rp 125/kg compared to the CPO price on Monday (March 10, 2025), which was Rp 15,105/kg.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO prices for Franco Belawan & Dumai were set at Rp 14,980/kg, while the price for Franco Talang Duku was set at Rp 14,850/kg.
Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, the futures price of palm oil on the Malaysian Exchange continued to decline for the second consecutive session on Tuesday (March 11, 2025), pressured by falling soybean oil prices on the Dalian Exchange, although an increase in palm oil imports by India limited the extent of the decline.
The benchmark palm oil contract for May 2025 delivery on the Malaysian Derivatives Exchange fell by RM 11 per ton, or approximately 0.24%, closing at RM 4,488 (US$ 1,017.69) per metric ton.
David Ng, a trader from Iceberg X Sdn Bhd based in Kuala Lumpur, stated that the price drop was primarily due to the overnight decline in soybean oil prices on the Dalian Exchange, significantly influenced by import tariffs from the US and China.
The most actively traded soybean oil contract on Dalian fell by 1.92%, while the palm oil contract dropped by 2.42%. Conversely, soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade rose by 0.73%.
