InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara (Persero), formerly known as PT Indra Karya (Persero), is now gaining attention in the national palm oil plantation industry. Transforming into a company focused on the palm oil sector, Agrinas has been tasked by the government to accelerate national food and energy independence through sustainable palm oil plantation management.
As part of this strategy, PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara has partnered with PTPN IV PalmCo, a subsidiary of the PTPN III Plantation Sub Holding. This collaboration aims to manage palm oil plantations in various regions of Indonesia and support government policies in implementing B40 and B50 biodiesel to enhance the utilization of palm oil in the energy sector.
The President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo, Jatmiko Santosa, stated that Agrinas has great potential to become a leader in the palm oil industry, not only in Indonesia but also globally.
"Agrinas has the capacity to manage palm oil plantations with environmentally friendly cultivation standards. With sustainable cultivation practices, we believe Agrinas can increase the productivity of CPO (Crude Palm Oil), which is highly needed," Jatmiko said in an official statement, as reported by InfoSAWIT on Wednesday (March 5, 2025).
The increase in CPO production is considered crucial in meeting food and energy needs, especially with the high demand for palm oil for oleochemicals and cooking oil. As the largest palm oil producer in the world, Indonesia continues to strive to implement plantation management with the best standards to meet both domestic and global market demands.
Meanwhile, the President Director of PT Agrinas Palma Nusantara, retired Lieutenant General Agus Sutomo, expressed his appreciation for the support from PTPN IV PalmCo in the company's transformation process.
"We are committed to creating productive, sustainable palm oil plantations that benefit the welfare of the Indonesian people," Agus stated.
With this transformation, Agrinas Palma Nusantara is expected to contribute to strengthening the national palm oil industry and support Indonesia's targets in achieving food and energy security based on palm oil. (T2)
