Four of ANJ's subsidiaries, namely PT Sahabat Mewah dan Makmur (SMM), PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Agri (ANJA), PT Kayung Agro Lestari (KAL), and PT Austindo Nusantara Jaya Agri Siais (ANJAS), successfully obtained the highest award in environmental management.

The award was presented directly by the Minister of Environment, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, during an event held at Sasono Langen Budoyo, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, Jakarta. In his speech, Hanif emphasized the importance of PROPER as an instrument to encourage businesses to continuously enhance innovation and performance in environmental management.

“PROPER is not just an award; it also serves as a standard for companies to improve collaboration with the government and society in addressing environmental and social challenges,” Hanif stated in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Thursday (February 27, 2025).

SMM achieved an outstanding milestone by receiving the PROPER Gold for the fifth time, while ANJA secured the same award for the fourth consecutive time. KAL and ANJAS also marked new achievements by obtaining PROPER Gold for the first time after previously being rated PROPER Green.

ANJ's Commitment to Sustainability

As an agribusiness-based food company, ANJ continues to demonstrate its contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Through its Responsible Development (RD) program, ANJ focuses on economic empowerment, education, and improving access to food and healthcare services for surrounding communities.

In the field of food security, ANJ implements programs based on local potential to ensure the sustainability of production systems. Meanwhile, in the health sector, the company operates seven main clinics and five supporting clinics that are integrated with the National Health Insurance (JKN) and BPJS Kesehatan. Programs for maternal and child health, as well as stunting prevention, are also key priorities.

In education, ANJ actively supports school development, character strengthening for students, provision of learning facilities, and teacher training to enhance the quality of education in its operational areas.

“These four PROPER Gold awards are tangible evidence that ANJ is committed not only to business growth but also to environmental sustainability and community welfare,” said Lucas Kurniawan.

He added that ANJ continues to innovate in environmental management, such as optimizing waste, energy efficiency, and biodiversity conservation. With these strategies, ANJ hopes to create a positive impact on the environment and society.

“In the future, we will continue to strengthen collaboration with various parties to present innovative solutions in environmental management, ensuring that sustainability is not just a commitment but also a work culture at ANJ,” Lucas concluded.
