InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at Rp 15,140 per kg on Wednesday, February 19, 2025. This marks an increase of 1.61%, or approximately Rp 240 per kg, compared to the CPO price of Rp 14,900 per kg on Tuesday, February 18, 2025.
According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the CPO prices for Franco Belawan & Dumai were set at Rp 14,900 per kg, while the price for Franco Teluk Bayur was set at Rp 15,010 per kg.
As reported by Reuters, palm oil futures contracts on the Malaysian Exchange rose on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, driven by a surge in prices of other vegetable oils and concerns over production. Additionally, increased buying ahead of a major industry conference supported the price rise.
The benchmark crude palm oil contract (FCPOc3) for May 2025 delivery on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange increased by RM 82 per ton, or approximately 1.82%, reaching RM 4,586 (US$ 1,032.65) per metric ton at midday.
The Malaysian Meteorological Department has predicted that the monsoon wave is likely to affect the country from February 21 to 25, bringing continuous heavy rain to East Malaysia and the eastern states of Peninsular Malaysia.
Meanwhile, the most actively traded soybean oil contract in Dalian (DBYcv1) rose by 0.61%, while the palm oil contract (DCPcv1) increased by 1.35%. Soybean oil prices on the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) (BOcv1) rose by 0.13%.
