InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) has reopened the 2025 Palm Oil Research Competition for students. This program is designed to encourage research and development in the sustainable palm oil sector while providing opportunities for active undergraduate and diploma students from universities across Indonesia to contribute scientifically.
Through an official letter seen by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (January 28, 2025), BPDPKS announced that proposal registration for this program is open until March 31, 2025. Proposal submissions can be made through the website https://lombariset.bpdp.or.id.
The Palm Oil Research Competition aims to apply the knowledge gained by students into more practical research to support the realization of a sustainable palm oil industry in Indonesia.
In the announcement letter numbered PENG-1/DPKS/2025, BPDPKS also mentioned seven priority research areas that can be proposed, namely: first, Land/Soil/Seeds/Cultivation; second, Post-Harvest/Processing; third, Bio-material/Oleochemistry; fourth, Food/Health; fifth, Waste/Environmental Management; sixth, Bioenergy; and seventh, Social/Economic/Management-Business/Market/ICT.
"The proposed topics are expected to consider cost-effectiveness and potential implementation in the palm oil industry," noted BPDPKS in the letter.
More detailed information regarding requirements, criteria, format, proposal submission mechanisms, and monitoring and evaluation systems can be accessed through the Technical Guide Book for Palm Oil Research Competition available on the official BPDPKS website (www.bpdp.or.id) and the research competition page.
This program is one of BPDPKS's steps to support scientific research efforts that have a tangible impact on the development of the national palm oil sector. For students with innovative ideas and a desire to contribute to sustainable palm oil development, this opportunity should not be missed. (T2)
