Musim Mas Group Distributes 350 Food Packages for Underprivileged Families to Celebrate Lunar New Year

InfoSAWIT, MEDAN – In welcoming the celebration of Lunar New Year 2576, Musim Mas Group, through the Anwar Karim Foundation, has once again demonstrated its commitment by distributing 350 food packages to underprivileged families. The event, held on January 17, 2025, at the STMB Multi Smart Building in Medan Labuhan, is part of the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that has been running for over a decade.

Yuandy, Corporate Affairs Manager of PT Musim Mas, explained that this initiative aims not only to alleviate the burden on the community but also to strengthen the relationship between the company and the local community. "We hope this assistance not only meets basic needs but also brings joy in welcoming the Lunar New Year,” said Yuandy in an official statement received by InfoSAWIT on Tuesday (January 21, 2025).

Each food package contains 10 kg of rice, one box of instant noodles, one can of biscuits, and flagship products from Musim Mas Group, such as two liters of Sunco cooking oil, five bars of Ok Klin laundry soap, and six bars of Champion bath soap.

The distribution of food packages took place in nine areas: Titi Papan, Kota Bangun, Martubung, Sungai Mati, Rengas Pulau, Simpang Kantor, Hamparan Perak, Belawan, and Pekan Labuhan. Residents welcomed this annual event, with many beneficiaries expressing their gratitude.

One recipient, Ang Tim Put (70 years old) from Paya Pasir, expressed his gratitude. “This assistance means a lot. We feel cared for, and programs like this are very helpful for our family. I hope this program continues,” said the man, who is currently unemployed and has three children.

Musim Mas Group runs its CSR program focusing on seven pillars: Religion, Socio-Culture, Education, Health, Economy, Infrastructure, and Environment. In Medan, various initiatives have been implemented, including environmental efforts such as planting 7,000 mangroves in Belawan and cleaning the Deli River; infrastructure projects like renovating places of worship for underprivileged communities; economic support for SMEs through truck fleets for subsidized LPG distribution and community farming development; and health initiatives including blood donation programs, stunting prevention, mass circumcision, and free health check-ups.

The distribution of food packages is a tangible manifestation of Musim Mas Group's dedication to making a positive impact on the communities surrounding its operational areas. This program reflects the company's commitment to supporting community welfare sustainably. (T2)
