InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - The Indonesian government is taking strategic steps towards the target of Net Zero Emissions by 2060 by promoting the implementation of the mandatory B40 policy. This policy aims to distribute 16.08 million kiloliters of biodiesel by 2025, as part of serious efforts to accelerate the transition to renewable energy.
A funding of IDR 37.5 trillion managed by the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS) demonstrates a strong commitment to supporting this significant agenda, as well as ensuring sustainable financing sources.
The government has prepared various technical aspects and infrastructure, including evaluating biodiesel production capacity, transportation readiness, and technical testing through a 50,000-kilometer road test. These steps are taken to ensure the smooth and efficient implementation of the policy.
According to Dida Gardera, Deputy II for Food and Agribusiness Coordination at the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs, the B40 policy is not only a technical step but also a symbol of multi-stakeholder collaboration in building a greener and more sustainable energy future.
