InfoSAWIT, PAREPARE - Bea Cukai Parepare has resumed its export services for palm oil commodities through the Belang-Belang Port in Mamuju, West Sulawesi. This time, the export was conducted by PT Jambi Semesta Biomassa, which shipped 10,002.15 metric tons of palm kernel shell to Japan on Wednesday (January 8).
Previously, on Monday (January 6), Bea Cukai Parepare also provided export services for palm kernel expeller amounting to 5,194 metric tons to South Korea. In just two days, Bea Cukai Parepare demonstrated its contribution to supporting palm oil commodity exports.
From the export of palm shells to Japan, the export duty generated reached IDR 1,620,949,000.00, while the export revenue was recorded at USD 960,260.40. Additionally, the revenue from palm oil levies amounted to IDR 486,285,000.00. These figures indicate the significant economic potential of exporting palm oil derivative products.
The Head of the Parepare Customs Office, Dawny Marbagio, stated that the export activities at the beginning of 2025 signal a positive trend for export development throughout the year. "Certainly, the export activity at the start of this year is a positive signal for export development throughout 2025," Dawny stated, as reported by InfoSAWIT from Tribunnews on Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
Dawny added that the agency continues to enhance assistance and support to encourage the continuity of exports for these leading commodities. "Through improved assistance and ongoing enhancements in export services provided by Bea Cukai Parepare, we expect the export of these palm oil derivative products to continue to rise, given the high market potential," he remarked.
