PTPN IV PalmCo Targets Additional Income of IDR 54 Billion from RSPO IP Certified CPO Sales

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA - Sub Holding PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV (PTPN IV PalmCo), part of the PTPN III (Persero) plantation holding, aims to generate additional income of USD 3.6 million or approximately IDR 54 billion this year through the sale of 120,000 metric tons of Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) certified Identity Preserved (IP) crude palm oil (CPO). This target is based on the operational areas of PTPN IV in Riau and North Sumatra.

Jatmiko Santosa, President Director of PTPN IV PalmCo, explained that RSPO IP certified CPO products offer significant premium value in the global market. "With an average premium price assumption of USD 30 per metric ton, we expect to generate an additional income of USD 3.6 million from its sales," Jatmiko stated, as reported by InfoSAWIT from Antara on Monday (January 6, 2025).

RSPO IP certified CPO ensures sustainability and traceability throughout the production supply chain. "This supply chain model guarantees that certified palm oil products can be traced back to a single certified palm oil mill," he added.

This weekend, PTPN IV Regional III conducted the first shipment of 4,000 metric tons of RSPO IP certified CPO from the Tandun and Sei Rokan palm oil mills in Riau. Ahmad Gusmar Harahap, Regional Head of PTPN IV Regional III, targets the production and shipment of 50,000 tons of RSPO IP certified CPO for the global market this year. With a premium price of USD 40 per metric ton, this initiative is expected to contribute to the country's foreign exchange earnings.

"The IP certification is not just about premium pricing, but also our commitment to sustainability and responsible palm oil management," Gusmar emphasized.

Jatmiko further noted that achieving RSPO IP certification is the result of hard work by Regional III since 2024. This certification also contributes to maintaining the reputation of Indonesian palm oil, which President Prabowo has referred to as a strategic national asset.

As part of its social responsibility, PTPN IV Regional III organized a charity event for hundreds of orphaned children in the surrounding community. This symbolic event coincided with the release of tank trucks filled with IP CPO to the international port of Dumai.

"We want to show that our employees not only produce quality products but also contribute positively to the community and uphold this strategic national asset," Gusmar stated.

With this ambitious target, PTPN IV PalmCo reinforces its commitment to supporting the sustainability of the palm oil industry and enhancing its competitiveness in the global market. (T2)
