InfoSAWIT, KOT AWARINGIN BARAT – KUD Tani Subur, located in Pangkalan Tiga Village, Pangkalan Lada District, has once again been entrusted with funding for the Oil Palm Replanting Program (PSR) from the Ministry of Agriculture and the Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDPKS).

This time, the funding amounts to IDR 10.8 billion for the rejuvenation of palm oil over an area of 180 hectares. This marks the fourth time KUD Tani Subur has received PSR assistance, having successfully obtained funding since 2019.

Sutiyana, the Chairman of KUD Tani Subur, revealed that the total PSR funding received by the group has reached IDR 23.99 billion, covering an area of 634 hectares out of a total of 870 hectares. “We still have 246 hectares that we will apply for next year, with a nominal IDR 60 million per hectare,” Sutiyana explained in a statement to InfoSAWIT on Wednesday (January 1, 2025).

He elaborated that the fourth phase of rejuvenation will commence in early 2025, with plans to cut down unproductive palm oil trees, followed by land preparation within the first three months. “This time, the IDR 60 million per hectare funding is sufficient until the production stage. Previously, the funding was only enough for the planting phase,” he stated.

Sutiyana emphasized the importance of selecting seeds that meet standards to enhance productivity. The government also encourages the use of quality seeds to maximize farmers' harvests.

Additionally, he shared tips for farmers seeking access to PSR funding. “The key is to be organized and have a legal entity, such as a cooperative, farmer group, or association. Applying individually is very challenging,” he noted.

He also added that farmers who have undergone RSPO or ISPO certification have an easier time with the administrative and legal processes. “The application process is now more straightforward with an online system, supported by technical guidance,” Sutiyana continued.

In the PSR program, KUD Tani Subur remains committed to planting intercropping in replanting areas. This aims to ensure that farmers continue to have income while waiting for palm oil harvests. This step also aligns with the government's program to promote food security.

“The first phase of PSR has already yielded results. In 2.5 years, farmers are starting to enjoy the harvest from this rejuvenation,” Sutiyana concluded with optimism.

The PSR program is designed to assist farmers in renewing their palm oil plantations sustainably while reducing the risk of illegal land clearing. The success of KUD Tani Subur serves as an inspiration for other farmers to follow suit. (T2)
