Solidaridad Receives Development Partner Award from Sintang Government in Two Categories

InfoSAWIT, SINTANG – The Solidaridad Network Foundation Indonesia (Solidaridad) has once again achieved recognition by receiving the Development Partner Award (MPA) from the Sintang District Government. At the annual event held at the Sintang Regent's Hall on Monday (December 16), Solidaridad was awarded in two categories: People's Economy and Governance. The award was presented directly by the elected Deputy Regent of Sintang, Florensius Ronny.

The MPA event is a form of appreciation from the Sintang District Government to 93 development partners who have made significant contributions across various sectors of regional development throughout 2024. These partners include companies, civil society organizations, media, and non-governmental organizations.

"We are very grateful for this trust and recognition. The appreciation from the Sintang District Government reflects a strong synergy between the government and development partners, especially in supporting sustainable palm oil cultivation," said Yeni Fitriyanti, Country Manager of Solidaridad, in a statement quoted by InfoSAWIT on Friday (December 20, 2024).

Yeni added that Solidaridad's programs focus on empowering smallholder farmers, women's groups, and youth. This is achieved through various initiatives such as financial literacy training, strengthening cooperatives, protecting customary forests, and developing green villages. "We hope this collaboration continues so that the people of Sintang can prepare for Indonesia Gold 2040," she added.

Solidaridad has partnered with the Sintang District Government since 2015, implementing various strategic programs such as assisting sustainable palm oil certification for smallholder farmers, financial literacy training, institutional strengthening, initiatives for protecting customary forests through the establishment of forest management regulations, and developing community-based small enterprises, particularly for women and youth.

In addition to Sintang, Solidaridad is also collaborating in several other districts, such as Sekadau, Sanggau, Landak, and Bengkayang.

The MPA in Sintang has been held for the past five years. Previously, this award was known as the Corporate Sustainable Responsibility (CSR) Award, but since 2023, it has been renamed MPA to encompass contributions from various parties, not just the private sector.

This award serves as tangible evidence of the collaboration between local governments and development partners in realizing the vision of Sintang District as an intelligent, healthy, advanced, religious, and prosperous region. (T2)
