The suspect, identified as SYD (51), is a security guard assigned to the central Division 2 of PT GMP. He was arrested at the Division 2 security office on Saturday (December 14, 2024), at 08:30 WIB.
Iptu Daniel Hamidi, the Terusan Nunyai Police Chief, representing Lampung Tengah Police Chief AKBP Andik Purnomo Sigit, explained that SYD is suspected of colluding with others to steal 51 palm fruit bunches weighing one ton, valued at IDR 3.1 million. "The suspect was arrested following an investigation based on the company's report and evidence," said the Police Chief, as quoted by InfoSAWIT from tribratanews on Tuesday (December 17, 2024).
The theft occurred on Sunday, November 10, 2024. At that time, the suspect was caught red-handed moving the stolen palm fruit around 01:00 WIB at the location where SYD was assigned.
