InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – The price of crude palm oil (CPO) at PT. Kharisma Pemasaran Bersama Nusantara (KPBN) Inacom was set at Rp. 15,589/kg on Monday (December 16, 2024), marking a 0.23% increase or an increase of approximately Rp 36/kg compared to the CPO price on Friday (December 13, 2024), which had a highest offer of Rp. 15,553/kg.

According to information obtained by InfoSAWIT from KPBN, the Franco Dumai price was set at Rp. 15,589/Kg, while the price in Talang Duku was set at Rp. 15,424/Kg.

Meanwhile, as reported by Reuters, the price of palm oil futures contracts on the Malaysian Exchange closed lower on Monday (December 16, 2024) for the second consecutive session, following declines in other vegetable oil prices, although a weaker ringgit limited losses.

The benchmark price on the Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Exchange fell 1.2% to RM 4,758 (US$ 1,069.21) per metric ton at the close of the session. The contract price has dropped more than 4% over the past week.

The ringgit, the currency used for palm oil trading, weakened by 0.07% against the dollar, making the commodity cheaper for buyers holding foreign currencies.

The most active soybean oil contract on the Dalian Commodity Exchange fell 0.08%, while the palm oil contract rose 0.58%. The soybean oil price on the Chicago Board of Trade dropped 1.57%. The futures price of canola oil on the Zhengzhou Commodity Exchange increased by 1.55%.
