The award was presented by the Head of the Padang Lawas Utara (Paluta) Education Office, Sofyan Endamora, on November 25, 2024.

The School Driving Program, initiated by Indonesia’s Ministry of Education in 2021, aims to enhance education quality by fostering competencies and character aligned with the Pancasila Student Profile. SMP Eka Pendawa Sakti integrated this program through various innovations, such as utilizing digital technology in teaching, differentiated learning tailored to students' needs, promoting literacy and numeracy, and actively involving parents and the community in school activities.

Rahmat, the Principal of SMP Eka Pendawa Sakti, expressed pride in this achievement. “We have succeeded in delivering education that not only improves learning outcomes but also shapes students' character. This success is a result of the hard work of all stakeholders,” he stated during an interview with InfoSAWIT on Sunday (December 8, 2024).

Head of Paluta’s Education Office, Sofyan Endamora, emphasized the importance of collaboration in achieving the program’s goals. “Becoming a driving school requires dedication and innovation. The challenges serve as motivation to keep progressing,” he said.

Taupan S. Sibarani, General Manager of ANJA, applauded the school’s accomplishment. “This award is tangible proof that collaboration between businesses and the education sector can generate positive impacts for communities. We are committed to supporting educational development in our operational areas to nurture intelligent and character-driven youth,” he explained.

As a driving school, SMP Eka Pendawa Sakti continues to implement the Independent Curriculum in its teaching and learning activities, aiming to create more inclusive, adaptive, and student-centered education.

This accolade is expected to inspire other schools to enhance sustainable education quality. SMP Eka Pendawa Sakti’s success is a testament to how education, when managed with innovation, collaboration, and a vision of sustainability, can realize Indonesia’s aspirations for a sovereign, advanced, and character-rich future.
