InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – PT Bhumireksa Nusa Sejati (PT BNS), a subsidiary of Minamas Plantation, has been honored with the Platinum Award at the prestigious Indonesia Sustainable Development Goals Award (ISDA) 2024. Organized by the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) in collaboration with the National Development Planning Agency (BAPPENAS), the award ceremony took place on Thursday, November 28, 2024, at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta.
PT BNS received this recognition for its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in education, specifically the Character and Environment-Based School Development Program at SDS 021 in Pelangiran District, Indragiri Hilir, Riau.
The ceremony was attended by notable figures, including Deputy Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, PT BNS Chief Commissioner Lisnawati Ibrahim, Minamas Plantation CSR Manager Agustiono, and representatives from various other companies.
Expressing her gratitude, Lisnawati Ibrahim, Chief Commissioner of PT BNS, stated that the award serves as motivation to continue implementing impactful CSR programs aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
"By developing character and environment-focused schools, Minamas Plantation contributes to raising awareness about the importance of environmental preservation, particularly in preventing forest and land fires. We hope that teachers in the company’s operational areas will become change agents who inspire the younger generation to care for the environment," Lisnawati said in a statement to InfoSAWIT on Sunday, December 1, 2024.
She also emphasized Minamas Plantation's commitment to enhancing the quality of national education and making a meaningful contribution to the nation.
Since 2015, Minamas Plantation has partnered with the Indonesia Heritage Foundation (IHF) to establish character and environment-based schools. In 2021, the company launched the Teacher Fire Awareness Program, involving 750 teachers and principals across 70 schools, from kindergarten to high school, in its operational areas.
In 2022, the initiative expanded with the Fire Awareness School Program in Indragiri Hilir, Riau, as a pilot project. This program encompassed five schools, 34 classes, 50 educators, and 850 students, delivering a total of 1,275 hours of training over a year.
Beyond education, Minamas Plantation actively engages in community empowerment, health, and environmental programs under its CSR initiatives, focusing on improving community welfare and environmental conservation.
As a leading CSR event, ISDA 2024 recognizes companies contributing to the 17 SDGs. The recognition awarded to Minamas Plantation underscores its role in fostering inclusive and sustainable development.
