InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Bumitama Gunajaya Agro (BGA) has introduced the BGA Staff Goes to the Village program, an initiative encouraging active participation of company employees with local communities around its plantations. The program aims to educate villagers about creating low-carbon communities by raising environmental awareness and fostering harmonious relationships between the company and its neighboring communities as part of its vision for Prosperous Villages (Desa Sejahtera).
The initiative is being implemented across BGA’s operational areas, including Mentaya, Pundu, Kotawaringin, Sei Rasau, Sei Melayu, Kendawangan, Nanga Tayap, and Rokan Hulu. Activities under the program include community clean-up campaigns, planting 5,450 trees in various locations, and organizing affordable food bazaars offering 903 kilograms of rice and 5,104 eggs. Additionally, BGA has provided free health checkups and arranged interactive games with prizes to strengthen bonds between staff and the community.
Through the BGA Staff Goes to the Village program, the company demonstrates its commitment to fostering community self-reliance and well-being. This begins with ensuring the fulfillment of basic needs and preserving the environment, achievable through strong collaboration between communities and the company.
The direct involvement of BGA staff aims to create a sense of togetherness in building Prosperous Villages while fostering an inclusive and sustainable ecosystem.
