InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – Minister of Environment and Forestry, Raja Juli Antoni conducted three important meetings in Rumpin, Regency of Bogor, West Java Province. It was after he visited Persemaian Modern Rumpin, one big nursery center that became one mainstay program of Ministry of Environment and Forestry (MEF) to support reforestation and provide seeds for the people.

“After checking the big nursery in Rumpin and distributing seeds for the farmers, I took every general director to meet in Rumpin,” Raja Juli said, as InfoSAWIT quoted, Wednesday (30/10/2024).

In the meetings, one main agenda discussed was about palm oil plantation governance in forest regions. The issue would be the specific one for the government because it would be delivering massive impacts for the environment and sustainable forests in Indonesia. He was with Vice Minister of Enviroment and Froestry, Sulaiman Umar and discussed the forestry policy implementation and governance.

Raja Juli Antoni said that it would be significant to directly know the field issue to confirm that every program in MEF would ru well, just like President Prabowo ordered. Raja though the presence of the officials to the fiel would enable to evaluate the program implementation and confirm that the people would get the advantages positively.

“I take the general directors in MEF to directly see the field, to evaluate that every program would be the same as what President Prabowo instructed. I want to know what the reality is in the field and confirm that the people get the output from every work,” he said.

It was the same with what MEF would do to escalate the people’s involvement to conserve the forest and get sustainable governance. Persemaian Modern Rumpin would be one strategic program that provided seeds and the farmers would take advantages around the forest areas to support reforestation and escalate the local’s welfare.
