InfoSAWIT, PALANGKA RAYA – Seminar and workshop in Central Kalimantan with the theme Sawit Indonesia Ramah Anak was officially inaugurated by Assistant of Government and People’s Welfare in duty Central Kalimantan Province, Maskur that represented Regional Secretary in duty of Central Kalimantan. It was attended by many stakeholders and the officials.
In his speech, Maskur thanked and appreciate the event by hoping that it would contribute to get tough and competitive human resources (HR) that would also be the same with the vision of Indonesia Emas 2045.
"Hopefully the good practices in palm oil – child friendly, would be the positive to realize and create competitive and strong human resource,” he said when reading the written speech of Regional Secretary Central Kalimantan Province, Saturday (26/10/2024).
He also said the challenges to fulfil the children’s rights namey in the access to basic services. He thought, palm oil industries would significantly play their roles to solve the challenges because palm oil industries involved million workers including the the rural where the infrastructures were minimal still nationally.
“Palm oil (companies) got the strong network until the villages but many regions still faced the big challenges in supporting infrastructures. It would need efforts collaboratively including to optimize the roles of palm oil industries to welfare the villagers namely the children,” Maskur said.
It is hoped the workshop would be the right moment for every stakeholder to share ideas and information about the real things to create much safer environment and supporting the children around palm oil plantations.
Chairman of Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), Eddy Martono, Deputy Assistant for Children Special Protection from Violation Ministry of Female Empowerment and Child Protection, Ciput Eka Purwianti, some officials in Central Kalimantan Proivnce, and the representative IPOA Central Kalimantan attended it.
It is hoped there would be concrete solutions and strategies to make palm oil industries more child – friendly, as same as the sustainable and socially responsible principles. (T2)
