InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – In his first speech after being officially inaugurated as the President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto emphasized that it would be significant to get food and energy sovereignty for the future of this nation. He thought Indonesia would immediately realize food sovereignty in four to five years to go and be the food bard of the world.

“I learned many things that help me understand the situation. In this very short, we have to be able to produce and fulfill food needs for every citizen of Indonesia,” he said, Sunday (20/10/2025) in Jakarta as InfoSAWIT monitored.

Prabowo also said about the global – scale tension that still happened. Indonesia should be ready to face the bad things, such as, energy crisis and war. “Other countries would consider about their interests. We have to be ready with the possibility that we should not depend on sources of energy from other countries,” he said.

In the context of energy dependence, he said that Indonesia got blessed for having abundant natural resources, such as, palm oil, cassava, sugarcane, sago, that could be processed to be fuel. Besides, geothermal, coal, and water are in big numbers.

“I would lead the government to realize energy self-sufficiency, namely by taking advantages on our (natural) resources. We have the technologies to help take advantages on sources of water and Alhamdulillah, we have enough sources of water,” Prabowo said.

He also mentioned that it would be significant to confirm that the government’s helps should be really got by the people in need. He promised to apply digital technology to distribute direct subsidies for the families in need.

“We have to confirm that the helps would be right on targets, namely the people who still lived in poverty,” he mentioned.

He also mentioned that the government would focus on food and energy self-sufficiency as the strategic things to face the global scale – challenges and maintain the sovereignty nationally. (T2)
