Non-Oil and Gas Exports from Indonesia in 2024 Increased: More than Those in 2023

InfoSAWIT, JAKARTA – Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan said that non-oil and gas exports from Indonesia in January — September 2024 got higher than those in the previous year. In the period, they reached US$ 192,85 billion, increased 0,32 percent from 2023.

“From the numbers, non-oil and gas exports contributed US$ 181,15 billion, increased 0,39 percent to the same period in 2023,” he said, as InfoSAWIT quoted, Sunday (20/10/2024).

In September 2024, the total exports from Indonesia reached US$ 22,08 billion, increased 6,44 percent from September 2023. But the numbers decreased 5,80 percent to August 2024. Non – oil and gas exports in September 2024 reached US$ 20,91 billion, got decreased 5,96 percent from the previous month but got escalated 8,13 percent to September 2023.

Zulkifli continued, the decreasing non-oil and gas exports in September 2024 happened in the industries and mining sectors. The industries decreased 6,38 percent and the mining did 5,43 percent. But the agricultural sectors got increased 2,95 percent.

Some main products got increased in September 2024, such as, cocoa and its derivative products (HS 18) that increased 17,56 percent; iron and steel (HS 72) 10,41 percent; coffee, rea, and spices (HS 09) that increased 10,26 percent. On the other hand, some products significantly got decreased, such as, metal ore, slag, and ash (HS 26) that reached 32 percent; cloth and accessories (HS 62) that reache 25,54 percent.

He said that China, USA, and Japan were the main countries to non-oil and gas exports from Indonesia that contributed 43,57 percent of the total non-oil and gas exports. China got increased 0,34 percent in September 2024 for the increasing economic projection in the country.

Meanwhile the countries with the highest increasing exports, were, Swiss that increased 273,91 percent, Russia (43,29 percent), and Brazil (37,22 percent). From the regions, East Europe significantly got increased 63,81 percent, then West Africa (32,94 percent) and West Europe (25 percent). (T2)
