InfoSAWIT, PALANGKARAYA – Ministry of Agriculture would keep doing the best to reinforce national scale food security by optimizing palm oil food plant intercrops or Kelapa Sawit Tumpang Sari Tanaman Pangan (Kesatria) program. one thing that has been realized is paddy gogo planting in the palm oil plantations in the Village of Pager, Sub district of Rakumpit, City of Palangkaraya. It was led by General Director in duty of Plantation Ministry of Agriculture, Heru Tri Widarto.
Kesatria program would be the same with what Minister of Agriculture instructed to increase paddy production nationally to anticipate food crisis in the globe. The planting of paddy gogo in palm oil plantations should escalate the plantation productivity and deliver income for the smallholders.
“We did plant paddy gogo together with the officials in Ministry of Agriculture, the Army, and smallholders’ groups. The goal would be about to increase paddy production and our smallholders’ income,” Heru said, as InfoSAWIT quoted, Friday (4/10/2024).
The planting also involved the synergy among the governments and smallholders’ groups, the Army, as the same thing to realize food independency in the global scale challenges that got more tough. Besides increasing rice production, Ksatria program should be the solution to get agricultural diversification in palm oil plantations and the agricultural areas could be more optimally taken for advantages.
By the planting, Ministry of Agriculture would be optimist that Ksatria program would positively deliver advantages not only in national scale food security but also the smallholders/farmers’ welfare where the plantations grew. (T2)
