InfoSAWIT, LAMANDAU – Regency of Lamandau, Central Kalimantan Province conducted socialization about smallholders replanting program (SRP) to increase the plantations productivity and smallholders’ income in the regency. The socialization was for the planters, namely the independent and plasma ones.

Regional Secretary of Regency of Lamandau, Irwansyah hoped that the socialization would significantly deliver advantages for the planters. “Namely for the independent ones to increase their plantation productivity and income in the future,” Irwansyah said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from Antara, Monday (30/9/2024).

He continued the main goal of the program would be about to increase the plantation harvest of the independent and plasma smallholders. “We would confirm that the smallholders’ income would be increasing as their plantation productivity gets better,” he said.

Many independent smallholders attended it, such as, from koperasi unit desa (KUD), agriculture groups and smallholders’ groups in the regency. It is hoped SRP would be effectively running and delivering the positive advantages for the local economy.

SRP would be part of the government’s program to support sustainable palm oil industries, namely for the independent smallholders that may be limited in the resource. By the program, it is hoped they could take advantages on technology and superior seeds to increase theirs and could compete in the trade and would improve their welfare.

Regency of Lamandau would be committed to develop them to face the agricultural and plantation challenges, encourage to increase their plantation productivity and sustainability in the region. (T2)
