InfoSAWIT, NANNING — In the 21st China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and China-ASEAN Business and Investment Summit (CABIS) in Nanning International Convention and Exhibition Center (NICEC), Indonesia re-emphasized its commitment to sustainable palm oil industries. Through the collaboration between Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PO PFMA) and Indonesian Palm Oil Association (IPOA), the campaign ‘Sawit Baik’ was discussed in the Indonesia Talkshow that was conducted in the third day of the expo on 26 September 2024.

The discussion focused that palm oil industries significantly played the roles for the economy in Indonesia and committed to confirm the sustainable environment in the production. Director of Primary Product Export Ministry of Trade, Miftah Farid said palm oil exports to China positively developed.

“China is one biggest trade partner of Indonesia in palm oil industries. Palm oil exports from Indonesia significantly contributed to the trade relationship between the two countries,” Miftah said in the official statement as InfoSAWIT quoted, Thursday (26/9/2026).

Miftah also mentioned that China is the fourth biggest goal for palm oil exports from Indonesia with the export products in green energy – base, such as, biodiesel and it would keep developing.

Miftah also emphasized besides massively delivering the economic advantages, palm oil industries in Indonesia would keep innovating to maintain sustainable environment as what the government published policies to encourage environmental product exports.

Head of Civil Society and Social PO PFMA, Aida Fitria emphasized the sustainability aspect in palm oil industries. Aida thought, PO PFMA and IPOA did many things to confirm that palm oil products from Indonesia were sustainably produced. “Sustainable palm oil is our commitment to support the practices to maintain sustainable environment,” she said and continued that palm oil would be the most efficient plant of vegetable oils and playing the significant roles in global scale – economy and minimize the environmental impacts.

Aida also mentioned that Indonesia published and implemented close regulations in the wastes and ecosystem management around the plantations, as parts to eliminate the negative stigma about deforestation that always attached to palm oil industries.

During the exhibition in the Paviliun City of Charm Hall B2, PO PFMA and IPOA showed up the latest innovation in palm oil industries, such as, environmental technologies, derivative products, and the efforts of the industries to qualify sustainability standards in the globe. The pavilion triggered many international scale stakeholders and visitors to know for the innovation and commitment of Indonesia to sustainable palm oil.

The campaign "Sawit Baik" that Indonesia proposed in the 2024 CAEXPO would be the way to answer the global scale – challenges about sustainable environment and would open wider chances for palm oil products from Indonesia to many countries, namely China. (T2)
