InfoSAWIT, YOGYAKARTA – Ministry of Agriculture through General Directorate of Plantation with the full supports from Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PO PFMA) delivered technical recommendation for palm oil plantation human resource development (POPHRD) scholarship for 3.000 students. It would be for those that directly involved in palm oil industries in Indonesia.
General Director in duty of Plantation, Ministry of Agriculture, Heru Tri Widarto said, the scholarship was for those in many levels of education, starting from Diploma 1 to undergraduate degree in 23 universities that delivered subject in palm oil.
“This is the real commitment of the government to develop qualified human resource in palm oil sectors in Indonesia. The scholarship was formulated to get superior human resources that would be ready to contribute in palm oil sectors,” Heru said, as InfoSAWIT quoted from the official page of Fecebook Ditjenbun, Sunday (8/9/2024).
In the Orientasi Kampus dan Kenal Kebun (OKKBUN) on last Monday, Director of Plantation Protection, Hendratmojo Bagus Hudoro that represented General Director in duty of Plantation said that the scholarship would be the ways to increase knowledge, skills, professionalism, and competitiveness of planters, including the planters’ families that involved in palm oil industries.
The scholarship would focus not only on developing academy but also to deliver them practical skills and professionalism needed in these industries. It is hoped that the graduate would be able to face the challenges globally and significantly contribute to increase palm oil competition from Indonesia in the global markets.
This would be the same with the efforts of the government to support sustainable palm oil industries nationally by developing competent and competitive human resources. It is hoped to be the motor to develop more professional and sustainable palm oil industries in the future.
With the supports from the two institutions, the program should always be going on and developing, delivering long term – advantages for palm oil industries and escalating the planters’ welfare and the workers involved in. (T2)
