InfoSAWIT, LAMPUNG SELATAN – Minister of Trade, Zulkifli Hasan emphasized that the government would encourage export products from Indonesia that would have additional values, as part of the strategies to reinforce the economy nationally and would take Indonesia to be a developed country in 2045.

He told that when releasing margarine (palm fat) exports in Lampung, Thursday 5 September 2024. Margarine was produced by PT Domus Jaya, that was exported to Greece that reached USD 61,70 thousand in September 2024. Besides Greece, PT Domus Jaya would export it to Croatia in this very short that would be reaching US$ 82,26 thousand.

"We have to process raw materials to be products. Palm oil to be products, for instance, margarine would deliver higher additional values than just exporting raw material only. The government would fully support the additional value export products,” he said, as in the official statement to InfoSAWIT, Saturday (7/9/2024).

Zulkifli also emphasized it would need the good, clear regulations to support the businesses. The government, he thought, would create the conducive business climate so the companies would be developing and delivering economic advantages nationally.

“When a company develops and gets profits, the country would get profits from the tax, revenue, and the people could work at it,” Zulkifli said.

In the past four years, palm fat exports from Indonesia, including margarine, positively developed. Data showed the increasing exports reached 38,04 percent in average per year between 2019 to 2023. The importer countries were China, Nigeria, Algeria, USA, and Vietnam.

The export release was also attended by General Director of Domestic Trade, Moga Simatupang that supported to reinforce export products from Indonesia. (T2)
