InfoSAWIT, BOGOR – Palm Oil Plantation Fund Management Agency (PO PFMA) did a meeting to discuss the progress of the 2016 -2030 Indonesia’s palm oil research roadmap revision in Bogor. It was attended by many sectors and stakeholders from related ministries, PO PFMA Research and Development Committee, smallholders’ associations, stakeholders, and research institutions.

In the opening ceremony, Division Head of Human Resource Education, Research and Development and Infrastructure Development, PO PFMA, Triana Meinarsih said it would be significant to get palm oil research roadmap revision to be the same with the National Medium Term – Development Plans, related ministries’ strategic plans, and kinds of documents in PO PFMA intern plans. Triana also emphasized the revision should be able to deliver answers every latest challenge and issue in palm oil industries both in the upstream to downstream sectors.

From what InfoSAWIT got, Friday (23/8/2024), during the two day – meeting, the participants listened to the description of two main speakers - DR. Ir. Purwadi, MS, Executive Director of PSKS-INSTIPER, and Petrus Tjandra, Director of PT Agro Investama Group.

In the intensive discussion, the participants discussed roadmap revision draft by focusing on research maps in priority – scale. Research and Development Committee PO PFMA, Prof. Didiek sid that it would need new strategies to expand the research results to be effectively implemented in the fields.

The meeting was closed by Director of Plan and Fund Management PO PFMA, Kabul Wijayanto. He hoped the two day – discussion results would get urgent research needs, such as, the technology to prevent and curation of Ganoderma. He also emphasized it would need to get commerce in research results to get real target and be achievable so the new roadmap would be more flexible and relevant with the future palm oil industrial needs.
